Usually we strongly advocate wearing a helmet when riding a motorcycle but this case is certainly an exception as the 22-year-old Puerto Rican man poised atop the Honda CBR600 F4 is dead.

In fact the rider (David Morales Colón) was the victim of a recent shooting and he’s being buried today. 

The Puerto Rican funeral home (Marin Funeral Home in San Juan) where the wake was held is making national news because of the way it displayed the body.

The funeral home, “put the corpse atop a motorcycle in a hunched-over racing position. The body wears a black cap, black sunglasses and a long-sleeved black T-shirt,” according to the Associated Press and the video below.

“According to Puerto Rico’s Primera Hora newspaper, the motorcycle was given to the victim by his uncle, and upon Mr. Colón’s untimely demise, family members delivered the bike to the funeral home specifically for this unusual wake,” Autoblog.com reports.

Fantasia is gearing up for the July 13th release of her yet-to-be titled third album on J Records. The album’s official first single is called “Bittersweet.”

Written by Claude Kelly and produced by Chuck Harmony, “Bittersweet” will impact radio May 10th. The video for the smoldering slow jam will be shot in a few weeks.

FROM RADAR ONLINE: With two failed marriages behind her, it seemed Halle Berry had finally found her soul mate in Canadian model Gabriel Aubry. The couple even had a child together, adorable daughter Nahla Ariela Aubry, who was born March 16th 2008.

But  it is being reported that Halle and Gabriel have called it quits and worked out a financial and custody deal. They spent months hammering out a deal with a lawyer.

It is being said that Gabriel was the one who pulled the plug on their five year relationship and that the age difference – he’s 34, she’s 43 – played a role.

“Gabriel just felt it wasn’t working anymore,” the source says. “When they were first together the 9-year age difference between them didn’t phase him, she was the most beautiful woman he had ever dated and he was totally in love. But as time went on he started feeling it more and more. Also, Gabriel started noticing other women, and being attracted to other, and he felt it just wasn’t right to stay with Halle in those circumstances.

“Gabriel is a really nice, decent guy and he would never cheat on her, but I suspect that he had become attracted to someone and that he felt he needed to break it off with Halle before anything developed any further.”

Halle’s first marriage to David Justice, a former baseball player, ended acrimoniously after 5 years amid accusations from Berry of domestic abuse.

Halle’s second marriage to Eric Benet ended after four years when Halle discovered Eric had cheated on her. Benet went into treatment for sex addiction but Halle filed for divorce.

Sheila Johnson, the co-founder of Black Entertainment Television alongside her ex-husband Bob Johnson, was asked by The Daily Beast blog what she thought about her groundbreaking network since selling it to Viacom in 2000 for $1.3 billion.

Says the 60-year-old Johnson, who has since divorced and remarried (charmingly enough, to the Virginia circuit court judge who presided over her divorce),

“Don’t even get me started. I don’t watch it. I suggest to my kids that they don’t watch it… I’m ashamed of it, if you want to know the truth.”

Johnson was being interviewed at the Tribeca Film Festival about the premiere of “The Other City,” a searing, but ultimately hopeful documentary she produced about the AIDS epidemic in Washington, D.C. — an epidemic Johnson says BET is making worse, and potentially contributing to its spread, by promoting promiscuous, unprotected sex in raunchy videos.

“When we started BET, it was going to be the Ebony magazine on television. We had public affairs programming. We had news… I had a show called Teen Summit, we had a large variety of programming, but the problem is that then the video revolution started up… And then something started happening, and I didn’t like it at all. And I remember during those days we would sit up and watch these videos and decide which ones were going on and which ones were not. We got a lot of backlash from recording artists…and we had to start showing them. I didn’t like the way women were being portrayed in these videos.”

Johnson says she has absolutely nothing to do with BET these days.

“I just really wish—and not just BET but a lot of television programming—that they would stop lowering the bar so far just so they can get eyeballs to the screen. I know they think that’s what’s going to keep programming on the air; that’s what’s going to sell advertising. But there has got to be some responsibility. Somebody has got to take this over. Because with all the studies that are out there, this is contributing to an atmosphere of free sex, ‘I don’t have to protect myself anymore.’”

Speculation is everywhere! People are not only taking bets on whether Mayweather can knock out his next opponent in his upcoming fight, but there are also bets on whether Chilli and Floyd will go a few rounds in love. Rap star Ice Cube has signed on to play a police officer in the upcoming movie Rampart, which will focus on the notorious unit within the Los Angeles Police Department.

The flick is being written by screenwriter James Ellory, will feature Ice Cube starring as a homicide detective investigating the dirty actions of a police officer played by actor Woody Harrelson.

The movie focuses on the sweeping CRASH (Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums) anti-gang program of the early 1990’s that left many African-American males brutalized at the hands of police officers.

“The Rampart scandal, (was) a stick of dynamite with a wet fuse. Rampart is another of these misperceived criminal conspiracies. It’s really the story of a handful of rogue, criminal cops who ratted out a wider number of untainted cops to save their own skins,” Ellroy told National Review Online in 2005. “And the entire event blew out of proportion into a media event that most people took to represent large-scale endemic corruption in the LAPD. In reality it wasn’t that. Cops are afraid to do their jobs now. There are nuisance suits filed routinely on officers who bruise the pinkies of violent street suspects, and they all have to be dealt with through the civilian complaint process. This wastes time and diverts energy from the real business of police work.”
