Eminem’s latest album, Recovery, had an amazing first week of sales.

According to industry rag, Hits Daily Double, which compiles a preliminary sales chart the day before the official SoundScan numbers are released on Wednesdays, Recovery sold 753,870 copies in its first week of release.

A very impressive showing during a period of overall low album sales!

The Roots’ 9th studio album, How I Got Over, pulled in an impressive 49,320 in sales since it went on sale the same day as Recovery, landing at number 6.

In his second week, Drake’s Thank Me Later, experienced a (normal) 66% dip in sales, but still lands in the number 2 spot with 156,451 copies sold.

The album, 20Ten, is scheduled to be released on July 22nd as a value add to the German edition of Rolling Stone magazine, as well as England’s Daily Mirror, Scotland’s Daily Record and Belgium’s Het Nieuwsblad on July 10th.

It’s not the first time Prince has utilized this method of distribution.  In 2007, his Planet Earth album was initially released only with copies of England’s Daily Mirror before he struck a deal with Sony to distribute the album worldwide.

As of right now, no plans for a release in the United States have been finalized.  However, it’s rumored that Prince has been in talks with his former record label, Warner Bros, for a distribution deal in the United States.

Rapper Drake did not get his own airline, but Virgin America did paint his image on their plane for it’s first international flight to Toronto. Richard Branson the owner was on hand to launch Virgin’s new service between Toronto and West Coast destinations such as Los Angeles and San Fransisco. Branson said Virgin will give Air Canada a run for their money. Drake posed for photos with Branson as both peered their heads out of the cockpit of the plane to wave at the media. Drake recently won a BET Award for best rap artist on Sunday. Playboy Magazine is now suing Drake over a sample that was used in his hit “Best I ever had”. They claim the song samples Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds’ 1975 soft-rock tune, “Fallin’ inLove.”

Supermodel Naomi Campbell is discovering the high price of being beautiful – and paying for it by losing her hair!

Years of wearing elaborate hair exstentions and weaves on the catwalk and in photo shoots have taken their toll on the supermodel’s natural locks, leaving her with a shocking bald patch covering the whole side of her head, RadarOnline.com revealed on Tuesday.

Naomi could go bald permanently, warned hair extensions expert Susan Lipson (who has not treated Campbell), owner of On Set Salon in Santa Monica, California. “She may have to wear wigs from now on.”

“This type of damage is commonly caused by a process called ‘Wefts,’ which are strips sewn into the hair very tightly that can pull on the hair and weaken the follicle,” Lipson explained to RadarOnline.com.

“It could definitely make her go bald, she probably still has a little hair left on top, which is why she can still attach extensions up there. There are long term adverse affects, her hair won’t grow back – it’s like ripping out a fingernail.”

Campbell’s vanishing hairline was clearly visible at a photo shoot in New York City while she was being primped for a shoot forDennis Blasso.

Luckily the stunning 40-year-old has such flawless bone structure that she’d still look gorgeous without even a single hair on her head, as this computer-generated image of her proves.
