Mariah Carey and Jermaine Dupri have been a due for years but now Mimi has decided to end the partnership and is looking for a new manager.
“I’m a very hands-on person when it comes to my work,” Dupri told Billboard. “I put my all into every project. But when I’m not allowed to do what I do, then I know it’s time for me to move on. Mariah and I enjoy working together and will continue to make great music together in the future.”
Dupri also served as the executive producer for Carey’s latest album Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse. The project underperformed commercially, only selling 58,000 copies in its opening week. That was the lowest first week total for a studio album in the singer’s career.
Carey is now reportedly working with music business veteran Kevin Liles. The former Def Jam executive recently teamed with Lyor Cohen and Todd Moscowitz to create the new label 300.

Jermaine Dupri has just signed 13-year-old Atlanta hip-hop artist DJ DJ to his So So Def label. She started rapping at the age of 9 and recorded his first song, “Gotta Get Mine.”
“It was 10 years from the time I signed Kriss Kross ‘til I signed Bow Wow,” Dupri said. “And exactly 10 years from the time I signed Bow to DJ DJ.”

Jermaine Dupri paid twice as much as he had to on his taxes because of penalties and late fess that totaled $493,818.75 in 2007.

Jermaine Dupri is sued over his 2005 Lamborghini Murcielago.
Premier Financial Services recently filed a lawsuit against Dupri in Georgia Superior Court, claiming he has failed to make payments on the car.
According to All Hip Hop, Jermaine Dupri made a $70,000 down payment on the car and financed the remainder of the luxury vehicle at a price of $330,000.
He was to make 58 payments at a cost of $4,323, but around 2009, the mogul defaulted on the loan.
The lawsuit claims that Jermaine Dupri still owes almost $80,000 on the Lamborghini.
According to reports, Jermaine Dupri’s Lamborghini has already been repossessed and sold for $115,000, but the company is suing the rapper/producer for $79,095 damages.
An Atlanta-area woman is suing music producer Jermaine Dupri over missed child support payments after a judge recently ordered him to pay her.
Fulton County Superior Court Judge Margaret Dorsey told the Grammy-winning producer in March to pay $2,500 a month and an additional $7,500 to Sarai Jones, based on the results of a paternity test.
Jones’ attorney, Randy Kessler, said Jones hopes that she and Dupri “can work together to co-parent their beautiful baby girl,” who is 7 months old.
Dupri’s lawyer, James Kane, declined to comment.
The lawsuit was filed at a time when Dupri is facing financial troubles. His mansion was up for foreclosure and set to be auctioned last week, but the sale was canceled at the last minute.
WSB-TV obtained records from the Georgia Department of Revenue, saying that Dupri owes the state more than $493,000 in back taxes for 2007.
Based off his 2006 income, Forbes.com said Dupri was one of hip-hop’s top earners, taking home $12 million.
