He has officially been immortalized! The Los Angeles Lakers retired basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal at the Staple Center. Shaq had this to say…

“I just wish Dr. Buss was here to see this, to enjoy this joyous occasion,” O’Neal said of Lakers owner Jerry Buss, who died in February. “I always hoped and prayed it would come. It was a dream come true.”

“It gets me real emotional,” O’Neal said before the game. “Growing up in Newark, New Jersey, and my father teaching me about the game, always mentioning Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and telling me when I was a young medium juvenile delinquent that, ‘If you do things right, son, maybe one day you can be as great as those guys.'”

Shaquille O’Neal’s new Youtube channel, the Comedy Shaq Network, is an urban-themed comedy channel featuring stand-up comedy, original web series, sketch shows, animation and more! If you haven’t subscribed you need to do so now..we are already hooked.

Reality tv star Nicole “Hoopz” Alexander has confirmed her break up from Shaquille O’Neal.  Sources say a very public fight at the Orlando Metro Gymnastics facility was the final straw.

BlackSportsOnline reports,

“The gym doesn’t teach people over the age of 18 for insurance purposes and when Hoopz was told this she lost her mind. She started to curse out the staff and became belligerent. She got extremely loud, screaming at the top of her lungs how she needed to train for the 2016 Olympics.

Shaqwas embarrassed, he dropped his head like he was ashamed of her. He didn’t say anything while they were in the gym, but once they got to their car a heated argument took place. You could hear and see them screaming at each other. I felt bad for him,” says a witness.

Shaunie O’Neal is the former wife of NBA star Shaquille O’Neal and the executive producer and star of the VH1 reality show “Basketball Wives.” She will be a featured speaker on a reality television panel at the 2011 Essence Music Festival.

She writes:

I’ll be honest, I love reality TV.

Actually it’s one of my guilty pleasure past times. Even before “Basketball Wives” I had my favorites, and I watched them faithfully. There is something appealing about seeing people deal with real life drama as you’re watching. Now, as executive producer of “Basketball Wives,” I know that’s not exactly how it happens, but it’s still fun to watch.

What isn’t so fun to watch, however, is this new generation of reality TV. It seems to be more about the drama and less about the storyline. That concerns me, especially now that I’m producing a reality show.

I have gotten both good and bad responses from viewers about “Basketball Wives,” and I certainly understand the opinion that the shows portrayal of black women is beginning to look somewhat negative.

As you see on the show, I’m not a big supporter of the bickering, drink throwing and fighting, but when you put a group of strong, independent and vocal women who are going through or just came out of a bad relationship together, there’s bound to be a little drama.

Let’s face it, we all know women like the ones on “Basketball Wives” and countless other reality shows: Women who are vocal if you cross them.

The problem for me is when black women are portrayed as only being that way and labeled different than their non-black counterparts for the same type of behavior. That’s when it becomes negative and damaging to our image.

Shaquille O’Neal is embroiled in a criminal case in which 7 gang members allegedly kidnapped, beat up and robbed a man who claimed to have a tape showing Shaq having sex with other women while he was married to Shaunie.

Ladell Rowles, a member of the Main Street Mafia Crip Gang in L.A. who is friends with Shaq — along with 6 other members went on a search and destroy mission in L.A. on February 11, 2008.  They believed a man named Robert Ross had the sex tape and they tried getting it back with the help of a gun or two.

According to the police report, the 7 gang members met up with Ross at a convenience store Pink Dot on the Sunset Strip.  The men allegedly surrounded Ross’ Rolls Royce Phantom with guns drawn, jumped into Ross’ car and ordered him to drive to Rowles’ house in South Central L.A.

Once there, Rowles allegedly pistol whipped Ross and demanded that he turn over the sex tape.  Ross said he would get the tape and bring it back to them.  The 7 men then allegedly took Ross’ Rolex, diamond chain and earrings, along with $15,000 in cash — then let Ross go.

The 7 men have been arrested and charged with robbery, kidnapping and other crimes. They are currently in the middle of a preliminary hearing and being held in jail.

We’ve learned LAPD detectives interviewed Shaq to determine what, if any, involvement he had in the alleged crimes.  When the case file went to the D.A. Shaq was not listed as a suspect.

Now here’s the interesting backstory.

Ross has a history with Shaq.  Shaq and his business manager, Mark Stevens, have a record label and allegedly told Ross they would give him a 50% cut in any artists he brought to them.  Ross claims he delivered Ray J to Shaq but got cut out of the deal.

Ross told cops after his falling out, he threatened Shaq by telling him about the sex tape, threatening to release it unless Shaq paid up.

As for the tape, Ross claims Shaq brought women to Ross’ home and had sex with them while he was married to Shaunie.   Ross told Shaq a “security camera” captured the action and it was all on tape.  But Ross told cops the security camera recycles periodically and the video no longer exists.

And there’s another twist.  Around the time Shaq and Ross had their falling out, Shaunie separated from Shaq and Ross claims he began having an affair with her.  Ross claims Shaq hired a private investigator to tail Shaunie and the P.I. caught the two together.

Shaquille O’Neal and his “Flavor of Love” girlfriend Hoopz brought out the big guns and the moonshine to take this Old Tyme saloon photo in Tennessee last week.

Shaq and Hoopz were in great spirits when they came to the Gatlinburg shop located just miles from where Shaq has a home.

Sources say Shaq wanted some privacy and asked to keep the store’s door shut while they were inside.

As far as dressing the Boston Celtics star in the wild wild West gear, we’re told O’Neal wore his own pants but the rest of his outfit fit like a glove on his 7 foot frame.
