The rapper and father of four shares how he talks about the birds and the bees with his kids

In the past, Nelly has expressed his frustration with a group of protesters who boycotted his 2004 bone marrow drive at Spelman College due to his sexually explicit music video, “Tip Drill.” The planned drive was in support of his sister, Jacqueline Donahue, who later lost her battle to leukemia in 2005.

And while the multi-platinum rapper may have been mum on the college’s protest in recent years, today during an appearance on HuffPost Live he revealed the one thing he would’ve done differently in retrospect to the demonstration.

“The Spelman thing, the only thing I feel I would’ve did different is kick somebody’s ass…that’s just how it felt to me, Pimp,” he said to host Marc Lamont Hill. “I don’t have my sister. And I doubt it if half of those girls are still campaigning for what they quote, unquote took advantage for that opportunity for.”

“You [protesters] robbed me of a opportunity. Unfairly, my brother. Because we could’ve still had your conversation after I got my opportunity, but it could’ve been somebody that was coming to that bone marrow drive that day, that was possibly a match for my sister. That didn’t come because of that…”

Nelly and Ashanti have officially called it quits after nine years of dating.  He has bounced back and is dating model/actress Tae Heckard…she posted pics of her with Nelly on her Instagram.

According to Necole Bitchie,

They met on a video set almost 10 years ago.   The two remained friends and dated here and there, which led to Tae inking Nelly’s nickname “Mo” on her lower back.  The tattoo can be spotted in her 2005 spread in Smooth Magazine.

Tae is most known for her recurring role on BET’s The Game, as well as numerous videos which include Keyshia Cole’s “Trust & Believe.” She also appeared with Nelly in his 2006 “Grillz” video.

TMZ reports,

Rapper Nelly was detained last night in Texas while police officers searched his tour bus — and found HEROIN in addition to a loaded gun … and MASSIVE amounts of weed … law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

According to law enforcement sources, Nelly’s bus was stopped at a border patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca — and a police canine detected the presence of drugs.

We’re told cops pulled the bus over — and after performing a search, they found 36 small baggies of heroin (totaling .64 ounces) and over TEN POUNDS of marijuana inside a large green duffel bag (an amount roughly the size of a large bed pillow).

Cops also say they found a loaded .45 caliber pistol.

There were seven people riding on Nelly’s bus at the time — including the rapper — and they were all detained during the search.

According to law enforcement sources, one of the passengers — a guy named Brian Keith Jones — admitted the drugs and the gun were his. He was subsequently placed under arrest.

Nelly and the remaining five were let go. Calls to Nelly’s reps were not returned.

Nelly has gotten caught up in a very public war of words with his ex-manager who is claiming the star is broke, addicted to steroids and facing foreclosure.

Nelly took to his Twitter account Saturday to clear up a few rumors after the manager who goes by the name Slim posted on his Twitter account claims that Nelly has lost all his money through gambling, takes steroids and is on the verge of losing his home due to mounting debt!

“I no (sic) some hoping that 4closure statement is tru but I’m sorry EPIC FAIL!” Nelly tweeted.

“Don’t nothing go in this body but fish, chicken, turkey, protein, ROZAY, ciroc remy and Budweiser,’

he continued, knocking down Slim’s steroid allegation.

This is not the first time Nelly has had to defend himself against rumors of steroid abuse.

In 2008 a high profile drug dealer gave cops a list of celebs who he claimed were using illegal body building drugs and Nelly was one of them.

“The only people who say that is people who don’t work out.  Anyone who goes to the gym knows what Nelly is doing is nothing,” Nelly said at the time.

As for Slim, Nelly fired him.
